Chika Fujiwara
Chika Fujiwara (藤原 千花, Fujiwara Chika) is a fictional character in the manga series Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, created by Aka Akasaka. collaborates with his student council colleagues, Vice President Kaguya Shinomiya and President Miyuki Shirogane.
Due to her innocent and cheerful nature, Chika seems to be completely oblivious to the psychological “battles” going on between Kaguei and Miyuki, who are constantly trying to get each other to confess their love.
In the anime adaptation, Chiku is voiced by Konomi Kohara in the Japanese version and Judd Saxton in the English version. In the action films Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and its sequel, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War 2, she is portrayed by Japanese actress and former singer Nana Asakawa. Creation and conception
In February 2020, Aka Akasaka, author of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, said in an interview that Chiki’s role in the manga is that she mainly serves as a foil for Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane, appearing when they are both in the middle of their intrigues, and then he sows chaos with his stupidity, in addition to stating that the relationship between Chikoi, Shirogane, and Kaguei mainly defines the plot.
Also, Akasaku asked why Chiki doesn’t have monologues, and he replied:
“Fujiwara is just the way she is. There’s nothing wrong with her. The fact that she doesn’t have monologues was just my earlier idea; at the time I thought it would be better to leave it a little secret. But now, when the series has been going on for so long, there’s no need for it. I’m drawing Fujiwara as if she’s a universal heroine. Please don’t be shy, you’ll like her.”
A month earlier, during a second interview, when asked if he resembled any of his characters, Akasaka replied that he resembles Chiku in that he likes board games, and that he feels like her. and has her character when friends and relatives come to her.

Chika Fujiwara is the secretary of Shuchin Academy Student Council. Chika is a light-skinned girl with shoulder-length silver hair (light pink in the anime), a black bow in the middle of her square bangs, blue eyes, and large breasts. Chika comes from a family of politicians: her grandfather was once the prime minister of Japan, her uncle is the current minister of justice, and her mother is a diplomat, which makes her family extremely prestigious.

There are several stories in which Chika actively teaches Miyuki skills she lacks, such as volleyball, dancing, overcoming shyness, and traditional dances. After each class, she vows not to teach him again, but gives in to his pleas, calling her a trusted friend or the only one who can help. She can also be quite cunning and quirky, often trying to cheat in the many games she comes up with, only to be exposed every time. Chica is obsessed with all things love, calling herself a “love detective” and giving relationship advice to others (despite never having a boyfriend).
Sometimes she can be strangely perceptive about Yu Ishigami and Miko Ino’s feelings, but at the same time she doesn’t notice Kaguya and Shirogane’s relationship.
In adaptations
In the anime adaptation of the series, Konomi Kohara voices the character, while Jad Saxton plays her in the English dub. The song’s ending theme “Chikatto Chika Chika” by Kohara is only used in the third episode of the first season; the song plays during Chika’s dance performance. In the 2019 action film Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and its 2021 sequel Kaguya-sama: Love Is War 2, Chika is played by Japanese actress and former singer Nana Asakawa.
Popularity
Chika has become an extremely popular and somewhat breakout character in anime and manga fandom. The popularity of Chika’s character has made her a frequent cosplay item among fan readers of the Kaguya-sama: Love Is War series. Reaction of critics
Reviewing “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War”, Rebecca Silverman of Anime News Network said that part of the story’s success is due to Chika, as she both uplifts the mood and tries to act as a good friend and a “sip of sanity” for Kaguya and Miyuki Fayyaz Chowdhury of Comic Book Resources commented that
“Chika is a wild card among the various mind games that Kaguya and Shirogane try to use on each other in their battle of confessions. Her aloof, goofy nature is used as a humorous obstacle in the main characters’ daily psychological battles, allowing the comedy to develop with layered twists. Depending on the character interacting with her, Chika’s personality traits are used to produce different effects.”
Marianne R. from MANGA. TOKYO commended Chika’s character as “worthy of note”, saying that she is very intelligent and able to emotionally manipulate Kaguya to make things run their course, which Marianne believes makes Chika “awesome and a bit creepy at the same time”. IGN’s Kambole Campbell praised the character’s Japanese voice actress, Koharu, for “excellent delivery of ebullient hyperactivity”.
