Kate Jenkinson

Kate Jenkinson is an Australian actress best known for her various roles on The Wedge as well as her role as Kendall Quinn on Super Fun Night. She is best known for her role as Allie Novak in the Australian hit television series Wentworth. In 2017, she admitted to being in a same-sex relationship.

Education

Jenkinson graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2004 with the Nigel Rideout Award and has since been a full-time performer in drama and comedy both on stage and screen.

Career

In 2005, Jenkinson was nominated for the Best Newcomer Award for her role as Julia in the Black Swan Theater production of Zastrozzi and was a regular on the comedy television series The Wedge from 2005 to 2007. In 2006-07, she appeared as herself in Thank God You’re Here, as well as in Dire Cities, the new pilot for Working Dog.

In 2007, she starred in an episode of Sean Micallef’s “Newstopia” and guest-starred on the Channel 9 drama series “Canal Road”.

She began 2008 with MTC’s Don Juan in Soho, after which she became a series regular on SBS’s The Pride of Bogan and guest roles on Rush, Satisfaction, Tangle, and Whatever Happened to That Guy”. In 2013, she joined the cast of the Australian series Rebel Wilson Super Fun Night. In 2015, she played Carol, the daughter of the title character in Sean Micallef’s sitcom Ex-PM.

In 2015, Jenkinson joined the cast of Wentworth as prisoner Allie Novak. She has since starred in the series and is confirmed to appear in the final season of Wentworth season 8 part 2. In season 8 part 1 we see her as Prison Top Dog.

On April 30, 2019, it was announced that Jenkinson had joined the cast of the Australian medical drama Doctor Doctor (known internationally as The Boy with a Heart). She played the role of Tara Khurdair in the fourth season, which began filming in April 2019 and aired from February to May 2020.
