Interview with Slava Kovtun

Ukrainian Kovtun spoke about his career on Russian TV before his exile.

Ukrainian political scientist Vyacheslav Kovtun told reporters what things he had to face during his stay in Russia and speaking on political programs.

Not much is said about the odious expert today. After TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov expelled him from his studio, the specialist only flashed on the air of Russian TV channels a few times. However, a year ago it was very difficult to imagine any talk show without a bright and outrageous political scientist.

As part of the TV project “Who Framed Kovtun?” Russian journalists talked to a Ukrainian expert, who told a lot of interesting things about how his career on Russian television developed, and what consequences he had to face with his fame.

Despite the fact that almost all broadcasts with the participation of the Ukrainian were very emotional, Kovtun himself tried not to start a fight. As the political scientist explained, he did not want to get a “red stamp” in his passport and be expelled from the Russian Federation. For this reason, he preferred to sit still and respond to attacks only in case of a real threat to his health.

It is worth noting that Kovtun got it not only on television, but also in real life. One of the most high-profile incidents involving him took place right at the entrance to the Ostankino television center. Then the political scientist was smeared with cake. Recalling those events, the expert noted that he was not ready for such a treacherous attack because he was trying to find his driver among a large number of people and cars.

“Many people, many cars. At that moment, someone ran up behind and in front. I was not ready, they immediately ran away. Nobody took responsibility. They were and they were not. That’s all. Therefore, there is nothing to discuss here, one can only guess, but I don’t want to advertise for someone, ”the political scientist admitted.

The last time Vyacheslav Kovtun appeared on Russian television on the eve of the New Year. Then his participation in the talk show “Time Will Show” made a splash.
