Life
Vishal Vashishtha was born on February 13 in Kolkata, India.
He originally planned to pursue a career as a chartered accountant, but his interest in acting led him to audition for a career on the small screen.
In addition to English, he is also fluent in Hindi and Bengali.
Career
Vashishtha’s Hindi career began in Sphere Origins’ youth drama “Crazy Stupid Ishq” in 2013 on Channel V India as Ayaan Dixit alongside Heba Nawab, Harsh Rajput and Aneri Vajani. That same year, he appeared on an episode of MTV Webbed (Ep. 11).
He later starred in Yash A Patnaik’s Ek Veer Ki Ardaas. Veera on Star Plus (2013), playing the character of Baldev Singh opposite Digangana Suryavanshi. His performance earned him the Zee Gold Award for Best Actor in a Comic Role.
In 2015, he played the role of Anil in the fifth episode of Yeh Hai Aashiqui created by Vikas Gupta and broadcast by Bindass. In the last quarter of 2015, Vashishtha joined the cast of the &TV drama series Gangaa as Sagar Chaturvedi opposite Aditi Sharma, for which he was nominated for Best Actor at the Zee Gold Awards. He left the series in January 2017.
Vashishtha’s next project was the rom-com Jaat Ki Jugni aired on Sony Entertainment Television from April to July 2017, where he played opposite couple (Madirakshi Mundl). In January 2018, he was cast as the protagonist Shaurya Gupta (Kanhaiya) in Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki on Star Bharat.
Next, Vashishtha signed a contract for a role in the series Vish: Toxic Story (May 2019) on Colors TV. The series starred Debina Bonnerji, Krip Suri and Sana Makbool.
Reunited with Patnaik, he played the role of the main antagonist in the romantic thriller Ishq Mein Marjawan 2 on Colors TV as Kabir Sharma from 2020 to March 2021. In March 2021, the show ended on TV and moved to digital platform Voot with a new season titled Ishq Mein Marjawan 2: Naya Safar in which he reprises his role as Kabir Sharma.
In July 2021, Vashishtha joins the main cast of Dice Media’s first Indian esports web series “Clutch”. It airs from October 2, 2021.
